ESTRELLA, what a miserable life...

Update 26.11.: Estrella now is in a fosterhome. She is lovely, sweet and has used her injured paw for the first time. The x-ray is showing that no bone is broken. Obviously a nerv is pinched and she receives acupunture. She already found a fosterhome in Germany and we hope she finally will be very lucky!

October: Estrella is a wonderful dog, lovely and recovering. We notice that she has been maltreated since she cowers when we try to stroke her. She still does not use his one paw but we will try to treat her with acupuntrure.

Not all Yorkshires are guaranteed a happy life in a familiy. We know a lot of little dogs taken to the killing station, shelters, being abandoned on the streets and hit there - only because the so-called "owners" do not show any responsibility.

Her sad history: Estrella was hit by a car on 18th of October in a town near Córdoba. She was innocent, full of ticks and knots. The veterinarian university-clinic detected concussion and a dislocated fore-end but no break. Estrella was dizzy and slept the whole day. She receives medication by infusion and lives in a fosterhome in Córdoba.

Today. 23rd of October, she regained her conciousness but shows no reflex in the lower fore-leg. Maybe one of the nerves was injured... further examinations have to follow after the inflamation is healed.

Not to forget her emotional damage. She wears chip, is 6 years and lived with a couple until their split. Since none of them wanted to take care of her they gave her to a familiy who without any scruple sold her to a breeder - a totally illega procedure! We do not know what happened then, if she escaped or was abandoned... she got almost killed by a car.

But whom to press charges against?? The legal position of animals is weak and it appears to be waste of energy and time. The first complaint would have been against the breeder but nobody seemed to even know him. What can we do without any data? We can only take over responsibility for this abused little dog...

Presently we cannot give Estrella into adoption since we have to wait for the results of the further examinations, furthermore she cannot be moved at the moment. If she still does not move, we have to take her to special exams to Sevilla meaning a lot of expenses. So in the case of Bongo, a few month ago...
